St John’s Churchyard brightened up with yarn bombing display
Street furniture and trees in St John’s Churchyard, Yeovil, was brightened up by volunteers and staff from South Somerset District Council on Tuesday 2 June when a form of street art called yarn bombing took place. The street art, which is environmentally friendly, started after the great bulb giveaway and will stay up for as long as possible over the summer. Residents are invited to add to the collection. Yarn bombing employs colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk, which can be easily removed at the end of the display with no damage. The display is part of the Yeovil in Bloom initiative for 2015. Full story: Read more
