Friends of The Heart of Wessex Line to sow wild seeds at lines stations

Wild Seed Planting 1 - 30 04 15Friends of The Heart of Wessex Railway Line spent Thursday (30 April) afternoon learning how to sow wild seeds in an attempt to help tidy up the look of the lines railway stations. Volunteers from the various stations along the Wessex railway line assembled at Yeovil Pen Mill Station with Catherine Phillips, Rail Partnership Officer, to listen to a presentation by Steve Fox, South Somerset District Council’s (SSDC) Principal Horticultural Officer. Yeovil in Bloom strikes Gold at South West in Bloom competition!

Along with being presented Gold in the overall competition, Milford allotments and St Marks Church allotments also won Gold in the Best Allotments Awards. Litter art set to raise environmental awareness

On Monday 7 July at 10am in Yeovil Borough, Yeovil in Bloom staff will be creating Rubbish Art with items of litter that have been found in the environment that residents and visitors visit regularly.
