Ham Hill Wood Fayre to celebrate all that native woodlands give us

HH Wood Fayre 2015 PosterJoin the Countryside rangers for a celebration of all that native woodlands give us on Saturday 5th September for the first Ham Hill Wood Fayre. From 10am, come along to the stone circle area at Ham Hill and watch chainsaw carving and horse logging demonstrations, participate in campfire cooking with the Scouts, enjoy the forest school mud kitchen or a wide range of free children’s activities in the kid’s zone. More than 1,000 residents receive the latest news from the Council’s Facebook page

Screen-Shot-2014-06-09-at-14.47.56Since its launch just over one year ago, more than 1,000 residents from across South Somerset have indicated that they like the South Somerset District Council Facebook page and regularly receive the latest news on their Facebook timeline. Launched in July 2014, the Facebook page was created to keep residents up to date with the latest news, events and job opportunities from the Council as well as providing useful information about council services. Streetscene Services cleanse Odcombe Recreation Ground after unauthorised traveller encampment

Screen-Shot-2014-06-09-at-14.47.56After a recent unauthorised encampment by a group of travellers at Odcombe Recreation Ground, South Somerset District Council’s (SSDC) Streetscene Services have been to the site and removed all waste that was left behind. A group of travellers entered Odcombe Recreation Ground on Friday 14 August and set up home, until they vacated the site on the morning of Thursday 20 August. Streetscene Services promptly arrived on site after the travellers had left and six operatives quickly got to work to tidy the area. Full story: Read more
