Following on from the successful 2013 and 2014 events, Wessex Wizards Triathlon Club will be hosting the 2015 Yeovil Aquathlon event at Goldenstones Leisure Centre on Sunday 1st March. This year the event will see the introduction of a new childrens race alongside the existing adults race, providing a great event opportunity for the whole family. Located in the beautiful grounds of the 127 acre Yeovil Country Park on the southern edge of Yeovil, the race begins with the swim at Goldenstones Leisure Centre followed by a multi-terrain run around the park. National Voter Registration Day is coming – Are you ready to vote?
Thursday 5th February 2015 celebrates National Voter Registration Day, a day that launches a week of activities across the nation by the Electoral Commission to encourage as many people as possible to register to vote. As the countdown to the General and Local Elections on Thursday 7 May 2015 begins, residents of South Somerset are being encouraged to make sure they are on the Electoral Register. Mendip District Council is encouraging any local residents not yet registered to vote to take advantage of National Voter Registration Day (Thursday 5th February) and go online now to register. There are fewer than 100 days until voters go to the polls to elect MPs for the Wells and Somerton and Frome constituencies.
