Ham Hill Wood Fayre to celebrate all that native woodlands give us

HH Wood Fayre 2015 PosterJoin the Countryside rangers for a celebration of all that native woodlands give us on Saturday 5th September for the first Ham Hill Wood Fayre. From 10am, come along to the stone circle area at Ham Hill and watch chainsaw carving and horse logging demonstrations, participate in campfire cooking with the Scouts, enjoy the forest school mud kitchen or a wide range of free children’s activities in the kid’s zone. Two new artists at Shaftesbury’s Cygnet Gallery

Cassandra and Elijah -Tales of the Future by Simon PolkinghornThe Cygnet Gallery in Shaftesbury is very pleased to announce that two new artists have joined the gallery. August has seen some changes at the Cygnet Gallery, Shaftesbury. Two new artists have joined the gallery, wood turner Jason Fermo and painter Simon Polkinghorn. It was almost three years ago when Jason Fermo walked into Jack of all Trades, Wimbourne, to buy a coat hook, but instead came away with a lathe and a selection of woodturning tools. Art Exhibition & Meet the Artist event: East Lambrook Manor, Malthouse Gallery

Damian ClarkeDamian Clarke, having been a musician for many years, has recently brought more drawings, words and dulcimer music together so that people can view and hear his work, sharing what inspires him when touring and exploring remote parts of Europe. Damian will be performing his musical soundscapes within the gallery space at a special “Meet The Artist” event on August 22nd at 3pm. Entry is free. This will be a chance to view the pictures with the added dimension of sound. There will be opportunities to ask questions and discuss the paintings.
