Martock residents invited to take steps towards a healthier lifestyle

Martock8Residents living in and around Martock are being encouraged to join two enthusiastic new volunteers for a free health walk around the town. Maggie and Peter Ludbrook recently set up the monthly walking group after completing one of the free Health Walk Leader Training days offered by South Somerset District Council. Caroline Bennett from the Our Place Martock Project Team was one of the walkers taking part in the group’s first walk in October. Coca-Cola Christmas truck coming to Yeovil this festive season

Coca-Cola Truck 1South Somerset District Council is excited to welcome the Coca-Cola Christmas truck to Yeovil this festive season. The iconic truck will be in the town centre from 12 noon to 8pm on Saturday 28 November. Stopping at Lower Middle Street the Coca-Cola Christmas truck tour will give fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with the famous vehicle. Flexercise training in Chard will help keep older people more active

flexercise groupSouth Somerset District Council’s Healthy Lifestyles Team is helping older and frail residents to keep active by offering a one day ‘Flexercise’ training session in Chard on Thursday 5th November. Sam Wenden-de-Lira, Healthy Lifestyles Officer at the district council explained the benefits of the training: “Flexercise is a series of chair based exercises that are an ideal way to keep residents in nursing homes, care homes, Active Living Centres, residential homes and sheltered housing active.
