Record amount raised for Somerset charity at this year’s Home Farm Fest

image007This year’s Home Farm Fest was a resounding success, breaking records for the second year running in terms of the amount raised for the Piers Simon Appeal, the charity behind the event. The total amount raised from the 2014 event came in at an impressive £27,418. Military Wives Choir to perform at Home Farm Fest

Yeovilton Military Wives ChoirThe Yeovilton Military Wives Choir will be performing at this year’s Home Farm Fest in June, it has been announced. Following their recent sell-out performance at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil, the Military Wives Choir is sure to be a highlight on the Friday evening, known as ‘Posh Frocks & Wellies’ night. Home Farm Fest takes place from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th June and is a family-friendly outdoor music festival, now in its ninth year. Disaster relief charity lends a hand closer to home in a ‘first’ for the Piers Simon Appeal

image001A Somerset based disaster relief charity has turned its attention much closer to home, donating £1,500 to the D1200 Flooding Appeal to help those affected by the recent flooding in the county. This is the first time that funds from the Piers Simon Appeal – which usually provides aid to poor, vulnerable and disaster affected children in developing countries – have been used to support a project within the UK.
