The fourth annual “Made in Somerset” held on Thursday 10th May turned out to be a bumper one, organisers say. Record numbers of visitors enjoyed the bigger-than-ever event, which showcases the finest designer-makers and artisan-producers from around the county. The 2015 conference is all about Somerset and the great products that are Made in Somerset, those hidden gems – brands and products – that everybody is familiar with, but unaware that they come from right here in Somerset. This year’s conference will consist of an interactive business exhibition with over 30 exhibition stands including the the AMRC’s MANTRA lorry, business conference and lots of networking opportunities. A new event showcasing original artisan arts and crafts from across the county has raised over £900 for charity. There were over 30 stallholders at Made in Somerset, held at the White Hart Inn in Somerton. Celebrating the breadth of local skills, these ranged from stylish ceramics and hand crafted jewellery, luxurious embroidered leather and textiles to delicious food and seasonal plants.
