WELL-KNOWN textile artist Angela Knapp from Castle Cary will be exhibiting at a charity event in aid of the National Kidney Federation early next month (December, 2015). Angela, who specialises in creating unique images of birds, will be at the award-winning Clavelshay Barn Restaurant for its Land, Sea and Sky Exhibition on Monday, December 7. She explained: “I’m delighted to have been invited to take part in this event. ‘Flights of Fancy’ Somerset Textile Artist’s first solo exhibition at Midsomer Quiliting, Bath
‘Flights of Fancy’ by Angela Knapp. In this, her first solo exhibition, Angela presents a body of work inspired by her love for, and fascination with birds. In late 2014 after many years of experimenting with fabric, Angela entered the Midsomer Quilting 12×12 ‘Music’ themed exhibition. Her submission – ‘Blackbird’ (Singing in the Dead of Night), sparked a new creative journey for her as a textile artist, culminating in this unique series of images.
