A desperate national plea was recently launched to find a new home for Jasper; a five year old male neutered English Springer Spaniel who was resident at Ferne Animal Sanctuary, Wambrook, near Chard, Somerset. Jasper had been at the Sanctuary’s kennels for six months and was showing signs of depression. Tara Nirula, Re-homing Manager said: “Everyone here at Ferne Animal Sanctuary is delighted that Jasper has finally found a new home after being with us for so long – and with such a lovely owner who can give him all the care and attention he needs. Council Officer receives special thanks from West & Middle Chinnock Parish Council for years of hard work
West & Middle Chinnock Parish Council gave a special presentation of thanks to South Somerset District Council’s (SSDC) Senior Land Records & Research Officer, after several years’ hard work resolving a land ownership issue in the Parish. Neil Cochran from West & Middle Chinnock Parish Council presented David Shears with a special glass plaque memento, a certificate and a cheque for David’s favourite charity (Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust) at the Council Offices. With everything from sizzling sausages and celebration cakes to beeswax candles and handmade crafts, The Queens Arms’ ever popular Christmas Fair will return to Corton Denham, Somerset, on Saturday 5 December from 10am-4pm. Offering a unique selection of seasonal supplies from local producers and makers, the Christmas Fair raises much needed funds for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, with stallholders donating prizes for a charity raffle at the end of the day.
