Affordable Housing performance one of best in the South West

SSDCSouth Somerset continues to be one of the highest performing Districts in the South West for the production of new affordable housing, consistently beating nearly every other District Council area in the region and even some cities. By the end of March 2014, almost 1500 new affordable homes will have been produced in South Somerset over a six year period. New sponsorship for Sherborne Jazz Club!

Club chair Paul Chousmer took receipt of the PRSF and Jazz Services Jazz Promoters Award last month, given “in recognition of the panel being impressed by your diverse programme containing exciting new music”. Improvements on the way for Mendip’s planning website

Mendip District CouncilThe facility for viewing planning applications on Mendip District Council’s website is to undergo a major overhaul to make it more user-friendly for customers. Once the improvements are completed, residents and businesses will see planning applications being registered online more quickly and will be able to view details of all consultation responses.
