Sherborne Jazz Club has been given a boost this year with new sponsorship, and a grant from PRSF and Jazz Services.
Club chair Paul Chousmer took receipt of the PRSF and Jazz Services Jazz Promoters Award last month, given “in recognition of the panel being impressed by your diverse programme containing exciting new music”.
Sherborne Jazz Club promotes monthly events at the Plume of Feathers in Sherborne, and at the David Hall in South Petherton.
This season kicks off THIS saturday 14th September at the Plume of Feathers with Henry Spencer and JUNCTURE WINNER of Best Newcomer Award at this years Marlborough JAZZ FESTIVAL.
Led by trumpeter Henry Spencer (originally from the Sherborne area), the band performs original compositions take influence from a range of genres such as jazz, rock and minimalism.
