A group of former Yeovil College students have worked on costumes for the forthcoming BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s prize winning novel Wolf Hall. The highly anticipated series presents an intimate portrait of Thomas Cromwell and his rise to power. From humble beginnings as a brewer’s son in Putney to principal advisor to Henry VIII, Cromwell develops into a pragmatic and accomplished power broker capable of navigating the corridors of power and deadly political intrigue. The waiting is over for a free insulation offer
South Somerset residents are being given the opportunity to improve their home for free, thanks to grant funding which is immediately available. Supported by South Somerset District Council, the Home Energy Team offer free and impartial energy saving advice and are on hand to give the latest information about the grants available. Be aware – Council Tax scam in operation
South Somerset District Council has received notification from a resident that a Council Tax scam email is being sent to some residents in South Somerset. A concerned resident has alerted the Council to a possible Council Tax scam. They received an e-mail saying they had an unpaid Council Tax bill as a payment hadn’t been processed and asking them to click on a link to update their records. Full story: Read more
