Community put down roots at King Arthur Drive Play Area
Local residents rolled up their sleeves and got digging for the Tree Planting Day which formed part of the brand new King Arthur Drive Play Area project in Yeovil. The new play area will provide a challenging and fun environment for young people and will feature a range of exciting new equipment including a zip line, a toddler and junior climbing frame, a basket swing as well as a new footpath and seating. Scrub bashing is good for you
People with mental health difficulties are benefiting from conservation work at Martin Down, near Salisbury, thanks to Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s Wellbeing programme, funded by Wiltshire Council Public Health. Martin Down is a nationally important nature reserve, looked after by Natural England which invited the group to help cut and burn scrub – a vital part of the on-going management of the reserve, to preserve the chalk grassland that supports a myriad of bird and butterfly species.
