Local Half-Term Halloween Family Fun

Creepy vegIt’s going to be a really spooktacular time at Ferne Animal Sanctuary, Wambrook, near Chard, Somerset during half-term week. Organiser Sarah Jackson from Ferne Animal Sanctuary said: “We’re having an interactive, creepy trail around the Sanctuary from Monday 26 October-Sunday 1 November to help Wendy the Witch find the magic word to help fix her wonky broom stick. “She needs all the help she can get so she can make it in time to pick up her award for Worm Welfare at the Witches and Wizards Wildlife Awareness Weekend. Work in Wells Week a big success

WIWW Trade FairOver 100 people turned out for the third annual Work in Wells Week, Trade Fair held in Wells Town Hall last month. Organised by the Mendip Hub and partners, Work in Wells Week took place from 14 – 18 September in various venues around Wells, and featured a series of free seminars and drop in events covering a varied range of business subjects. The trade fair took place on the Thursday as part of Work in Wells Week and featured 24 stalls, two speakers and Far Flung Foodie, who was a big hit come lunchtime. Kelways opens new Greengrocers and Florists Shop

IMG_9247Kelways Plants, one of the oldest nurseries in the UK, based in Langport Somerset has just opened a new retail shop in the heart of the market town. “The Undercroft” as it is known is a Grade II listed building forming the ground floor of Langport GuildHall, dating back to the 18th century. “Each day I drove past this beautiful but empty old building I thought to myself that it would make a marvellous garden shop” said Dave Root, Kelways Managing Director. Full story: Read more
