Local flower lovers recently celebrated the start of autumn at a flower arranging workshop held at Combe St Nicholas Village Hall, near Chard in Somerset. Exhibition of Prue Piper ceramics at Bruton Museum
Forget modish grey minimalism, Prue Piper’s fantastical decorated earthenware zings with colour and life, testament to her love of diverse cultures, North African, South American, Indian. From Wild Beginnings to Wild Art at the Museum of Somerset
The Boys’ Own adventures of Taunton brothers Andrew and David Neal have inspired the Museum of Somerset’s autumn exhibition, ‘Wild Art: Nature Re-imagined’. Opening on Saturday 8 October the exhibition features photography, sculpture and painting by the brothers. Fascinated by nature since childhood, they explored the Somerset countryside on family walks and on cycling and canoe adventures in the 1940s and ’50s. Full story: Read more
