As winter approaches the magnificent gardens of Forde Abbey welcome visitors to enjoy breath taking walks through its stunning grounds. This time of year is magical as the trees loose their fiery autumn leaves and reflections bounce off the structural Long Pond were the Temple Arbour stands sentinel.
Bring your family and friends (and even the dog) to stroll along the paths and admire the beautiful scenes.
There is even more reason to venture to Forde Abbey during November – as the Gift Shop is packed with festive Christmas ideas enabling you to get ahead with your Christmas shopping in a wonderfully attractive and relaxed setting. Mosey amongst a hand selected array of gift ideas including arts and crafts, books and luxurious toiletries.
Follow up by settling in the atmospheric Undercroft Tearoom to enjoy the delicious home-made festive treats many produced from fresh produce grown in the Abbey gardens themselves.
The Special Christmas shopping deal offers FREE admission to the gardens every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout November. Christmas gift shop open 10am to 4pm. The Tearoom will also be open between 11am and 3pm.
On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in November, and from 1st December 2014 to 8th March 2015, the special Winter Rate is £5 for admission to the gardens, payable at the Honesty Box by the Shop. (No shop/tearoom open.)
The Abbey Nursery will have a plant sale on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd November, and also on Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th November or while stocks last; it will be open from 10am to 4pm. The Eeles Pottery will be open on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd November from 11am to 4pm.
