Whopping Donations For Local Animal Sanctuary

Support Adoption for Pets-cheque presentation

Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Wambrook near Chard were thrilled to receive two donations recently from “Support Adoption for Pets” raised by customers from Axminster and Taunton Pets at Home stores.

The Axminster store raised a whopping £1,115.85 and the Taunton store £642.25.

Jenny Wheadon, Head of External Fund Raising from Ferne Animal Sanctuary said: “Everyone at Ferne was absolutely delighted to receive such generous donations from the customers at Pets at Home, we can’t thank them enough.”

Miriam Christian from Pets at Home, Axminster said: “We really would like our customers to know how grateful we are to them for their continued support with our charity work. Events will be happening during the summer months so please keep a look out within the stores.”

About Ferne Animal Sanctuary:

Set in 51 acres of glorious Somerset countryside, Ferne Animal Sanctuary is home to over 300 domestic animals, farm animals and birds.

Founded in 1939 by the late Nina, Duchess of Hamilton and Brandon, Ferne Animal Sanctuary originally looked after the pets of servicemen and women who were going away to fight for their country.

Apart from rehomed dogs and cats, horses are fostered. All other creatures stay at Ferne for the rest of their lives.
