Wear your Wellies for Wildlife this October

Somerset Wildlife TrustSomerset schools, clubs, community groups and businesses are being asked to ‘Wear your Wellies for Wildlife’ throughout October and help raise money for local conservation.

Somerset Wildlife Trust is encouraging as many people as possible to pay £1 and ‘Wear your Wellies’ for a day, afternoon or even an hour. All donations will be used to support the Trust’s work protecting some of the county’s best wildlife habitats and most precious species.

Every donation counts but as an added incentive schools or groups that take part and raise £60 or more will receive free membership to Somerset Wildlife Trust for one year. Members receive a welcome pack filled with educational resources to help children explore and learn more about the natural world.

“In addition to the fun, there is a serious environmental and educational message behind our Wear your Wellies for Wildlife campaign,” said Janet Keeble, Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Community and Outreach Manager. “Protecting local wildlife is the responsibility of us all and we can all do our bit to help ensure Somerset remains rich in wildlife.”
