Time to be snappy with your Chairman’s Christmas Card Competition entries!

Mendip District CouncilThere’s still time for budding David Bailey’s to get their Christmas photos into Mendip District Council for the Chairman’s Christmas Card Competition.

Councillor Ron Forrest, Mendip District Council’s Chairman, is looking for one of your photographs to feature on the front of his annual Christmas card.

Shops will soon be adorned with Christmas lights and tinsel, high streets will be lit up and who knows, maybe we’ll even get some snow to complete the scene. So head out and about with your camera in hand and try to take a snap which you think captures our theme of ‘Christmas in Mendip’.

The competition will be open until November 28th with the winner being notified on December 5th.

Not only will the winner’s photograph feature on the Chairman’s Christmas card but a Christmas hamper full of local produce will also be awarded to the winning photographer.  The winning photograph will appear in the December issue of Mendip Council’s news page in the Mid Somerset Series of newspapers.

Cllr Ron Forrest said: “For this year’s Christmas card we thought we would try something new and ask local residents to send in their best ‘Christmas in Mendip’ photographs, with the winning photo featuring on the card. I’m hoping for a good response and am already looking forward to sorting through my mailbag!”

All entries for the competition can either be sent as a JPEG to [email protected] or as a hard copy to Chairman’s Christmas Card Competition, Mendip District Council, Cannards Grave Road, BA4 5BT. Unfortunately we will be unable to return hard copies.

The competition is open to all Mendip residents – please include your full name, address and telephone number with your entry. You may enter as many times as you wish. Full terms and conditions can be found on our website www.mendip.gov.uk/Christmascardcomp
