THEY ARE BACK, SOMERSET FAVOURITES TO HEADLINE SHOW!

With less than 200 days to go to the Mid-Somerset Show plans are gathering pace and Somerset Favourites the Wurzels are lined up ready to please the crowds at the 2013 show.

The official show office, based on the Crowne Trading Estate in Shepton Mallet was opened on Friday (15th) and loyal show supporter Michael Eavis popped in to pledge his support by sponsoring the Wurzels performance at the 2013 show.

Current show president Finn Christensen, show secretary, Christine Barham and the 2013 show president, Roger Penny lined up on Friday to cut the ribbon and officially open the office, which will be the new central hub for the show.

The Mid Somerset Show celebrated its 160th year last year and with the Wurzels scheduled to return to the 2013 show on Sunday 18th August, plans are well underway for the 161st show.

The Mid-Somerset Agricultural Show which hosts the annual show in Shepton Mallet also supports a number of other events and this weekend is no exception with the annual Hedge Laying competition taking place on Sunday.

Hedge Laying amateurs and professionals will compete at Beard Hill Farm on Cannards Grave Road in Shepton Mallet, thanks to the kind permission of the Snelgrove family.
