Major boost for Wells sports clubs relocation plan

Mendip Proposals for a new state-of-the-art sports campus in Wells have taken a major step forward after Mendip councillors gave their initial backing to the plan. Groundbreaking agreement aims to provide a major boost for sport in Wells

Mendip District CouncilA major new outdoor sports campus could be established in Wells thanks to a groundbreaking agreement between Mendip District Council and leading sports clubs in the city. Mendip District Council’s Cabinet is due to consider the proposals at its meeting on Monday 11th November. If approved, the site, on land between the A371 and Elm Close in Haybridge, would see new, modern sports facilities established for a number of local outdoor clubs, including the varied activities at Wells Sports Club, such as football, tennis, netball and archery, and Wells Rugby Club.
