Waste services back on schedule despite disruption

All waste services are SWP collect 03back on their usual schedules after recovering from serious disruptions and widespread delays over Christmas and New Year, Somerset Waste Partnership has announced. Household collections, including clinical, assisted and paid-for garden waste pick-ups, are now on their standard timetables throughout Somerset, while all 16 recycling sites are open as usual. VIRIDOR ACQUIRES COMMERCIAL RECYCLING LTD’S WASTE COLLECTION DIVISION IN DORSET AND SOMERSET

CRL Acquisition_Mark Woods & Stuart MarinerViridor has secured the purchase of Commercial Recycling Ltd’s Waste Collection Division in Dorset and Somerset for an undisclosed amount. As part of the agreement, Commercial Recycling Ltd (CRL) will retain its waste transfer and recycling business, and will transition its collection division to Viridor on 1st June this year (2015). The handover will include the acquisition of a 1,000-strong customer base, 18 collection vehicles, a lease of a vehicle depot and the TUPE integration of 36 full-time employees. Check for Easter waste collection changes

Somerset Waste Partnership.pngGood Friday and Easter Monday will mean changes for recycling and rubbish collections, Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) has announced. Collections due on Good Friday 3 April will take place on Saturday 4 April. Easter Monday on 6 April will move all services in that week to one day later, including Friday’s pick-up on Saturday 11 April. Full story: Read more
