Langport Area Business Group bidding to bag a cash boost from Tesco Bags of Help initiative

Tesco has teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to local community projects. Febreze triggers a fresh recycling trial at Tesco and Recycling Centres across Somerset

SWP Trigger top Febreze 01Febreze – a Procter & Gamble company brand – and Tesco are working with Somerset Waste Partnership to help residents recycle more plastics than ever before. From 8 December 2014, people can participate in a trial to separate and recycle the trigger tops and flip caps from their home care plastic bottles, at large Tesco stores and Recycling Centres across Somerset. The trial is taking place to help understand whether specific collection methods work for previously non-recycled packaging. Trigger tops on plastic bottles that allow the products to be sprayed are made from different types of plastic to that of the bottles, and often contain a metal spring – this means they should be separated for recycling.
