Thing are shifting up a gear for the first Cycle Somerset, a challenging sponsored 90 miles cross-county road ride organised by St. Margaret’s Hospice on Sunday 8 September 2013, kindly sponsored by Dyne Drewett. Utilising existing Sustrans routes, Cycle Somerset will start from the small town of Dulverton in Exmoor and take riders from these beautiful hills, across the Somerset Levels and ending finally at St. Margaret’s Hospice in Yeovil where riders can re-unite with family and friends and enjoy a bit of a celebration! Community projects awarded £250,000 from Mendip Council
Mendip District Council has announced the local community projects which are to receive a total of £250,000 in funding.Earlier this year, the council set up a Local Legacy Fund and invited community groups throughout Mendip to bid for funds for specific projects which would provide a lasting legacy in the district.
