A £10,000 grant to help with improvements to Chilthorne Domer’s popular recreation field and pavilion has been approved by South Somerset District Council’s (SSDC) Area North Committee. The developments are the latest stage in a multi-phased programme of work to update the facilities. Free Tourism Literature Exchange Tuesday 8 March
Over 40 tourist attractions will gather at South Somerset District Council’s free tourism literature exchange on Tuesday 8 March 2016, which will take place at Haynes International Motor Museum from 10am-12.30pm. Community loan signed for Hinton St George community shop
The Hinton St George community has been given a big boost by South Somerset District Council (SSDC) after a 20-year fixed-rate loan of £190,000 for the community shop known as Our SHOP was given to replace its current variable-rate commercial mortgage. Today, 9 February 2016, SSDC and Hinton St. George and Locality Rural Community Services Ltd (HRCS), the Community Benefit Society that owns and operates Our SHOP on behalf of its 380 members, signed the loan agreement.
