Yeovil Rec doors thrown open for free Family Fun Day

SSDC agrees office-share partnership with County Council

SSDCIn a move to help their customers and maintain cost-efficiency, South Somerset District Council and Somerset County Council have agreed a lease for sharing part of SSDC’s central office at Brympton Way, Yeovil. The agreement was signed on Friday 8 August by both Councils and marks a new phase of joint working by the two authorities. The County Council’s Adult and Children Services – currently at Maltravers House, Yeovil – will move to Brympton Way, starting in the autumn, with the transfer completed by Christmas. First World War activities a hit!

WW1 The 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War was commemorated by South Somerset District Council’s Heritage team recently, by holding children’s activities at Milford Hall and St Peter’s Hall in Yeovil. Participating children really used their imagination to produce ‘trench art’, tanks, a café, love hearts and mementoes like the soldiers would have done in the trenches. Full story: Read more
