“I can lower your Council Tax banding if you pay me £65” may sound like a great offer, but there are no guarantees that your Council Tax band will be lowered. Langport’s Back Water Clean-up
South Somerset District Council’s Streetscene team took to the waters last week to help clean up the historic stretch of water adjoining Cocklemoor, in the centre of Langport, known as the Back Water. Abandoning their usual street cleaning apparatus, the Streetscene team launched a small flat-bottomed boat from which to access much of the problem area along the town bank. Full story: Read more
Chilthorne Domer recreational centre set for makeover
A £10,000 grant to help with improvements to Chilthorne Domer’s popular recreation field and pavilion has been approved by South Somerset District Council’s (SSDC) Area North Committee. The developments are the latest stage in a multi-phased programme of work to update the facilities.
