Twelve bellringers from all over the country will be revisiting St Peter & St Paul’s South Petherton on Saturday, 17th October to have another go at ringing 21,216 changes of a method known as Cambridge Surprise Maximus. If successful, the ringers will break a record set on Birmingham Cathedral’s bells nearly 50 years ago. The 12 highly experienced ringers are subject to rules laid down by the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers. Each ringer has to ring his bell for the whole time without a break. Art & Craft Exhibition in St Peter & St Paul’s Parish Church, South Petherton. Showing the talents of a variety of folk in our parish with as many as 30 different exhibits. A precursor to the Somerset Art Weeks in October, this is our way of celebrating those who are really good at what they do and would like to let others see their finished wares and encourage others to have a go and perhaps start a new hobby. Come and celebrate the talents of the village including: Ceramics and Pottery, Embroidery, Calligraphy, Paintings, Spinning, Lace making, Wood Turning, Quilts and textiles Plus lots more.
