One source of the fly-tipping across Somerset could be major firms not ensuring that their subcontractors – often known as “subbies” – are up to scratch, which could put them all in the dock. BT last week admitted that one of its subcontractors dumped garden waste while replacing a pole in Somerset. Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) is reminding all companies that under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, they and their subcontractors and employees are all potentially liable for any fly-tipping that takes place. Limber up for Limbo competition at Zero’s under 18’s Hawaiian Party
Young clubbers can kick start their Summer holidays by having the chance to participate in a limbo competition and try their hand at surfing at the next Zero Project under 18’s Hawaiian party which is to be held on Wednesday 23rd July from 7pm – 11pm at Club Neo, Stars Lane, Yeovil. Zero has been successfully running under 18 events during school holidays since 2007 for year 9 students and upwards, which attracts young people from across Somerset and Dorset.
