Northern Europe’s only flying MiG-15 will be making a rare UK appearance in the flying display at RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day 2015 on Saturday 11 July. This year’s popular Jean Rees Memorial Lecture is presented by Paul Upton, the author of the biography ‘Hans Schwarz’ which was launched at the National Portrait Gallery last year. Paul Upton also wrote ‘Hans Schwarz in Somerset’ about one of Somerset’s more illustrious guests. Chandos Society of Artists’ members and guests will hear much about Schwarz’s time at Stogursey during the 1960s and how the painter, sculptor, illustrator and author didn’t waste a single day in producing some work.
