A record £5,000 was raised for local charity Somerset Sight at this year’s Somerset Chamber of Commerce charity golf day. Held at Oake Manor Golf Club on 14 August, the Chamber’s twelfth annual golf day was a huge success, attracting over 70 business people across 18 teams. Team Somerset Sight raise over £5000 at Bath Half Marathon
A team of 14 ran The Vitality Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 12th March in support of Somerset Sight. They all finished in great time, the fastest being Jon Fellingham at 1 hour 32 minutes. 4 of the runners were visually impaired, 1 being totally blind and ran with a guide. Full story: Read more
Somerset Sight charity’s need for volunteer visitors
Somerset Sight supports people in Somerset who are blind or partially sighted through regular visits by local volunteers, many people are housebound and have no family to visit them. We welcome volunteers of any age into our befriending service – you need no particular qualities, just the desire to help someone who needs a friend and a willingness to visit someone regularly.
