Mendip residents save hundreds of pounds on their fuel bills

Mendip District CouncilHouseholds in Mendip have a chance to sign up for the next round of Collective Energy Switching, which could see them save hundreds of pounds on their fuel bills. In the last round of energy switching, in October last year, local people who signed up to the scheme saved an average of £174 on their annual fuel bills, while some saved more than £300. Collective Energy Switching – which is backed by Mendip District Council – is when consumers get together to negotiate a group deal with gas and electricity suppliers, with a third party actively negotiating a better tariff on behalf of the group through an auction process. Have your say on Mendip’s economic growth

Mendip District CouncilA consultation is being held in Mendip to allow local residents and businesses to have their say on proposals aimed to encourage economic growth in the district. As part of the Economic Development Strategy for Mendip, which was approved by the council in 2013, Mendip District Council designated the Bath and West Showground near Shepton Mallet as an Enterprise Area.
