Festive cheer will be spread to shoppers in Chard, Crewkerne and Ilminster with the news that they will be able to park for free on Saturday 17 December. South Somerset District Council’s (SSDC) Area West Committee agreed at their meeting in November to fund free parking on Saturday 17 December to encourage shoppers to support our market towns in the festive season and rediscover what can be bought locally.
The Ilminster Annual Christmas Tree Festival is a spectacular display of around 50 lit and decorated Christmas Trees. This year for the first time we have suggested, as an alternative to a decorated tree, the charity sponsors display a traditional crib scene. Full story: Read more
