Plant a tree for Christmas

Pit Wood Tree Planting 2015Residents of South Somerset are invited to join the Countryside Rangers this coming weekend and plant a tree at Ham Hill Country Park for Christmas. The Ranger team at South Somerset District Council’s Ham Hill Country Park recently received a free tree pack from the Woodland Trust to plant in Pit Wood, which form part of the Country Park site. Country Park Dog shows a treat for all

Ham Hill Dog ShowTails were wagging with delight after South Somerset District Council successfully held two Dog Shows at Ham Hill Country Park and Yeovil Country Park. Over 95 dogs entered the various classes at the dog show at Yeovil Country Park held on 2 June and plenty of visitors who did not have dogs also attended the event. Profits raised from that day which will be split evenly between Heavens Gate and the Dogs Trust, Salisbury. Meanwhile, at the Ham Hill Country Park Fun Dog Show on 12 July, more than 180 dogs entered the events on the day and profits from the event will be split between the Friends of Ham Hill group and Ferne Animal Sanctuary.
