Dog owners reminded to pick up after their pets this winter

Dog PooDog owners in South Somerset are being reminded pick up after their pets this winter or face the possibility of a fine. With the clocks having recently gone backwards and the darker nights now with us, patrols by enforcement officers will be stepped up across the district in a bid to catch any offenders failing to pick up after their pets. South Somerset District Council is reminding dog owners that anyone caught allowing their dog, or any dog that they are in charge of to mess in a public place, they may be issued with a fixed penalty notice for £80. Paws-a-plenty for this year’s South Somerset District Council Fun Dog Show

Screen Shot 2015-06-11 at 14.04.14Held annually on the grassed area at Yeovil Country Park, besides the Ninesprings Cafe, South Somerset District Council’s Fun Dog show is always a date for the diary. This year, the event will be held on Sunday 21 June and dogs of all breeds and ages are welcome, although sadly there are restrictions on puppies under 6 months of age entering the show. Whether you have a dog or not, this event is not to be missed because of its fun and friendly atmosphere plus it’s free entry cost.
