Following on from a successful campaign last year, Chard Resident, Judy Gray, has once more enlisted the support of District Councillor Amanda Broom in raising awareness of dogs being left in hot cars. This year, with the full support of South Somerset District Council, other District Councils have also been asked to support as the message is spread further afield. Dogs die in hot carsSouth Somerset District Council’s Enforcement Officers are pleading with dog owners not to leave their pets in cars, after receiving several reports of distressed dogs in cars during the recent hot weather. An influx of calls from residents who are concerned about the welfare of a dog being left alone in a car has prompted South Somerset District Council to remind its residents not to leave dogs alone in a car.
