Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne residents set to benefit from £334,000 activity boost
Inactive people in and around three South Somerset communities are set to benefit from a successful lottery funding bid led by South Somerset District Council. The ‘Click into Activity’ project is one of only 16 projects nationally to receive investment from Sport England’s Get Healthy, Get Active fund which aims to get inactive people moving. The successful bid was the result of a partnership between Somerset Health and Wellbeing Board, University of the West of England in Bristol, Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP), South Somerset District Council and the CLICK GP Federation which covers the area of Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne. Free premiere theatre performances in Crewkerne’s shops
12 short unique plays written by local residents will be performed by professional actors in 15 different locations around the town centre on Saturday 31st May. Bristol based theatre company, ‘Show of Strength’ run the Trading Local project which uses free performance art to entice shoppers into the town centre to explore and discover shops they may not have visited before.
