Record turnout for this year’s Somerset in Business Conference

image005A record turnout of over 300 business people attended this year’s Somerset in Business Conference on 4th June. Organised by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and entitled ‘Made in Somerset’, the delegates heard from speakers representing a broad range of industries including advanced manufacturing and engineering, food and drink, and fashion. Speakers from businesses including AgustaWestland, Numatic International, Pittards and Ministry of Cake provided insight on their history and approach to business, as well as the added value that being ‘Made in Somerset’ provides for their organisations. Businesses invited to find out more about free training opportunities

Strode CollegeLocal businesses are being invited to attend a free information event at Strode College to find out more about the wide variety of training opportunities available – many of which are fully funded. The college, in Street, has grants and bursaries available for local businesses that want to up-skill and re-skill their workforce. The funding has come from the European Social Fund, to help support businesses in the region to get ready to be part of the Hinkley C development. Full story: Read more
