Gillingham Walking Festival 2015

30 11 11 photyoFinal preparations are now in full swing  for the second Gillingham Walking Festival taking place from the 5-13th September. The event will be launched on Saturday 5th September at 9.45am on the Town Meadow by the Mayor or Gillingham and our special guest Kate Ashbrook – President of the Ramblers national organisation.  Enthusiastic walkers can then take a 5 or 20 mile walk. Blackmore Vale Lions Ceilidh a Huge Success

Ceilidh (1)Lion Ray Cable is presenting a cheque for £250 to Hillary Mead of CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) a charity that supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by young sudden cardiac death. The money was raised at a Valentines Day Ceilidh organised by the Blackmore Vale Lions and the event raised over £1,000 which was a huge success. Full story: Read more
