Langport’s O2i Design wins national sustainability award

O2i Design Consultants, based in Langport, have been awarded a prestigious industry award for Environmental Best Practice at a presentation ceremony held at the Houses of Parliament in London. Duncan and Andrea Pyle were presented with the Gold Award at the Green Apple Environment Awards ceremony on 11th November. Their winning project was the design of two detached eco homes on the outskirts of Langport, which competed against more than 500 other nominations to win the highly regarded award. Festive parking cheer for Chard, Crewkerne and Ilminster shoppers

SSDCFestive cheer will be spread to shoppers in Chard, Crewkerne and Ilminster with the news that they will be able to park for free on Saturday 17 December. South Somerset District Council’s (SSDC) Area West Committee agreed at their meeting in November to fund free parking on Saturday 17 December to encourage shoppers to support our market towns in the festive season and rediscover what can be bought locally.

THE RPS INTERNATIONAL PRINT EXHIBITION 159 AT MUSEUM OF SOMERSET, 14 JAN -11 MARCH

The Royal Photographic Society’s International Print Exhibition 159 opens at the Museum of Somerset from 14 January to 11 March 2017. Launched in 1854 and now in its 159th edition, it is the longest-running exhibition of its kind in the world. This year’s exhibition features an eclectic mix of work by 75 photographers from 16 countries, carefully selected by a panel of experts, and will provide a fascinating insight into the range and diversity of photography today.
