Public thanked for input to Wells Recreation Ground improvements

Mendip District CouncilLocal people have been thanked for sharing their views on the proposed improvements to Wells Recreation Ground and the Bishop’s Barn.

At a packed meeting at Wells Town Hall yesterday evening (Wednesday 7th May) members of the public had their say on the proposals and how they would like to see this area of the city improved.

Donna Nolan, Corporate Manager for Governance, Assets and Public Spaces at Mendip District Council, said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended last night’s meeting for taking the time to give us their input on the proposed improvements.

“We will consider all of the points raised, both for and against the proposals, and provide an update on the plans at a future meeting of the Trust.

“The Trust is committed to improving this key area at the heart of the city and to ensuring that it becomes viable and self-sustaining for the future. We want to work with the people of Wells to deliver a solution for this site that has the support of the majority of the local community and which can attract grant funding.

“The Trust is also keen to widen its membership and is currently exploring how this can be achieved.”
