Omega and Alpha set for world premiere at Wells Cathedral | This is Somerset

A Castle Cary composer is preparing for “the proudest moment of his career” when his musical masterpiece is unveiled to the world on Saturday. Martin Emslie, 57, of Alford has written an 80-minute composition telling the Biblical Easter story, culminating in Jesus’s resurrection. Free entry.  A celebration of the life of trees with emphasis on the Ash.  Also features the 2nd Annual Furniture Exhibition, run in conjunction with Bridgwater College Fine Furniture course. South Somerset workforces lose more than 40 stone to become leaner and healthier

Employees from South Somerset District Council, Screwfix aYarlington Weightloss challenge Winning Teamnd Yarlington Housing Group shed more than 560lbs in weight for the most successful Workplace Weightloss Challenge to date. The Challenge, which is run by the Healthy Lifestyles team at South Somerset District Council, encourages employees to join teams of three to five people and sign up to lose weight sensibly over a 6 week period.
