874 (Sherborne) Squadron Air Cadets have raised enough money in one year for a much-needed brand new Ford Transit 17-seater minibus which was delivered to the Squadron in April. 874 Squadron currently has around 20 cadets drawn from Sherborne and nearby villages and towns. Given all our activities, we have a frequent need for transporting cadets and massive amounts of equipment! Taxi safety again disappoints council enforcement team in latest stop checks
A joint operation to check over 26 local taxis has brought further disappointment to South Somerset District Council’s licensing enforcement team. Castle Cary Welfare Benefits Surgery set to open
A welfare benefits surgery is set to open to the public in Castle Cary on Friday 24 May. It’s an opportunity for residents to drop in and seek advice or speak with a Support Officer in a pre-booked time slot about their welfare benefits. The surgery has been organised by South Somerset District Council so that residents can check what benefits they may be entitled to, receive help in applying and review “what if” calculations if their circumstances change.
