Yeovil’s Super Saturday comes to Yeovil Town Centre on 26 September, bringing live music, market stalls and plenty of fun activities for children. South Somerset District Council and Yeovil Town Council have seized the opportunity to collaborate on the organisation of exciting events in Yeovil Town Centre. Museum of Somerset Collections Inspire South West Artists
The Museum of Somerset’s outstanding collections have been providing South West artists with the inspiration behind two upcoming exhibitions in Taunton. Opening on Saturday 10 October, The South West Textile Group’s exhibition is titled ‘Imprints’, with 35 members showing work across a range of techniques including stitching, quilting, felting, weaving, printing, dyeing and mixed media. Some of the museum’s stand-out objects provided inspiration, including the Roman Low Ham mosaic, which depicts a tragic love story, and the Frome Hoard, the second largest collection of Roman coins ever discovered in Britain. Somerset Animal Charity Appeal: Rabbits need homes!
Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Wambrook, near Chard, Somerset is currently overrun with male rabbits and is seeking suitable homes for them. Nikki Haddock, Head of Animal Care said: “We urgently need people to come forward who can help. The rabbits will require suitable housing.
