The Spring season was recently welcomed with enthusiasm by ladies from all over Somerset, Devon and Dorset at two flower arranging workshops held at Combe St Nicholas Village Hall near Chard. A huge variety of seasonal flowers and foliage were used to make beautiful Spring posies. This Half Term, The Bishop’s Palace is getting creepy-crawly! The theme for the week is ‘Minibeasts’ and both the Family Fun Friday and the Muddy Monday will involve activities based on all those little creatures hiding beneath your feet! On Monday 30th May, it’s Minibeast Muddy Monday – Amanda in the Community Garden is going on a Minibeast hunt and she needs your help to find out which minibeasts might be hiding underfoot, or even in the depths of our pond with some pond-dipping! Residents of Yetminster and Ryme Intrinseca have the opportunity to shape their community through the development of a Neighbourhood Plan. West Dorset District Council has received a request from Yetminster and Ryme Intrinseca Parish Council for the approval of a Neighbourhood Area, which is the first formal stage of preparing a plan.
