The Wells Comedy Festival – which takes place 3-5 June 2016 – has revealed its full line-up, with a whole host of new acts joining the previously announced Stewart Lee, Sara Pascoe, Arthur Smith, Robert Newman, Sam Simmons, Bridget Christie and many others. More than 20 comedians are making the trip to England’s smallest city to play the ‘weekend-long stand-up jamboree’ (The Guardian). New additions include award-winning Radio 4 star Mark Steel, TV regular Katy Brand (of ‘Big Ass Show’ fame), Foster’s Best Newcomer nominee Dane Baptiste and ‘Almost Royal’ and ‘Mock the Week’ star Ed Gamble. Somerset Wildlife Trust Appoints Its First On-site Visitor Officer
Thanks to some generous funding from Martin Stanley, one of Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Trustees, we are delighted to welcome Olivia Dullaghan to the team as our very first Visitor Management Officer. Olivia will be out and about this Spring and Summer across our flagship nature reserves in the Avalon Marshes and Cheddar area, inspiring people about the fantastic wildlife that there is to see on our Nature Reserves, and helping visitors with any questions they might have. The Art of Victor Ambrus celebrated at the Museum of Somerset from 23 April to 2 July
The achievement of the Hungarian-born artist and illustrator Victor Ambrus is celebrated at the Museum of Somerset from 23 April to 2 July. ‘The Art of Victor Ambrus’ features some 90 original works created over a period of nearly 60 years by this much-loved artist. Victor is one of Britain’s foremost illustrators of history, folk tales and children’s books and is well known for his archaeological reconstructions created for Channel 4’s Time Team series.
