A Talk about Somerset’s Buccaneer at the Museum of Somerset
Somerset buccaneer William Dampier is the subject of an evening talk at the Museum of Somerset on Tuesday 13 September. The talk is part of the museum’s summer exhibition ‘Pirates! Fact and Fiction’ which explores pirates through history, in film and in literature. The talk will be given by Tom Mayberry, Chief Executive of the South West Heritage Trust. Somerset lady wins at The Great Dorset Steam Fair
Last week at The Great Dorset Steam Fair, one of the biggest events in Europe and as seen on BBC One’s Countryfile by 6.7 million viewers, Jackie Nicholls from Ashville Design, near Chard in Somerset, who was exhibiting in the Rural Craft Marquee won an award with her artificial flower arrangements for “The Most Colourful and Artistic Craft Display”.
