Council submit Local Plan for Examination
The latest version of the South Somerset Local Plan 2006 – 2028 has now been formally “Submitted” to the Planning Inspectorate for public Examination. This follows Full Council’s endorsement of recommended amendments on Thursday 17 January 2013. The report to Full Council updated growth projections as a result of the publication of the new population figures from the 2011 Census and the latest job figures from the Business Register Employment Survey for 2010-2011. A deal to bring superfast broadband to rural
parts of Somerset and Devon has been delayed over “contract issues”. In October, BT was chosen to deliver the service for the Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) programme over an eight-year period.
