MN@War Cheque PresentationThe Maiden Newton at War Committee presented the four groups that helped manage last  year’s event with cheques at a presentation evening on Friday 10th May. The four groups received a share of the profit with £4000 each going to St. Mary’s Church, the Junior Football Club and the Friends of Maiden Newton Play Area and the Friends of Greenford School received a cheque for £4500 in recognition of their additional costs in providing part of the venue. Mendip Council’s Cabinet holds first Q&A session in Shepton Mallet

Mendip District CouncilDon’t forget this Thursday is the first of Mendip District Council’s ‘Meet the Cabinet’ sessions in Shepton Mallet. Make sure you submit your questions to the council by midday today. The new ‘Meet the Cabinet’ sessions will take place in each of the area’s four main towns – Frome, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet and Street – and in the city of Wells.

Sherborne Air Cadets Get New Minibus

2874 (Sherborne) Squadron Air Cadets have raised enough money in one year for a much-needed brand new Ford Transit 17-seater minibus which was delivered to the Squadron in April. 874 Squadron currently has around 20 cadets drawn from Sherborne and nearby villages and towns. Given all our activities, we have a frequent need for transporting cadets and massive amounts of equipment! So, we needed the minibus to enable us to do this much more efficiently and, most importantly, as a cohesive unit with team spirit. Full Story: Read More
